Beyond Corporate strengthens Property Litigation offering with senior partner hire in Leeds

Beyond Corporate has announced the appointment of Chris McGrath as Partner, further strengthening its specialist Real Estate and Dispute Resolution teams and supporting the wider Group’s strategic expansion in Leeds. Beyond Corporate is a specialist practice within the Beyond Law Group, providing focused legal advice to businesses, entrepreneurs and investors.

Chris joins Beyond Corporate as a Property Disputes Partner after spending 27 years at Addleshaw Goddard, where he built a national reputation in litigious and advisory real estate work. He will be based in Leeds, a key growth location for Beyond Corporate as it looks to expand its regional presence, grow its client base and continue to build a strong recruitment pipeline during 2026.

With more than 20 years’ experience advising investment landlords, tenants, developers, public sector bodies and entrepreneurs, Chris supports clients at pre-acquisition and sale stages to help de-risk transactions, as well as resolving complex property disputes. While known for his ability to achieve commercial, amicable outcomes where possible (including at mediation), Chris has extensive experience leading litigation, including arbitration proceedings when disputes cannot be resolved consensually.

Chris is a high calibre recruit and is ranked in Chambers & Partners and Legal 500 for Property Litigation, as well as being an established member of the Property Litigation Association. His experience spans asset management, commercial landlord and tenant matters, sale and purchase support, large-scale project work, development issues including title complexities and vacant possession strategies, trespasser and possession claims, negligence and misrepresentation claims and applications for damages and injunctive relief.

Commenting on his appointment, Chris said: “Beyond Corporate has a clear vision, a strong culture and a genuinely collaborative approach across teams. I’m excited to join at a time when the practice is investing in Leeds and building something ambitious. I’m looking forward to getting stuck in, developing my practice and helping Beyond to grow in the region.”

James Corlett, Managing Partner at Beyond Corporate, added: “Chris is an outstanding addition to Beyond Corporate. His reputation in the market, depth of technical expertise and commercial mindset make him a perfect fit. His arrival is a key part of our growth strategy in Leeds, where we see significant opportunity to build our client base and continue attracting high-calibre talent. We are delighted to welcome him to the Group.”
