Rachel has progressed through the ranks of the firm, having started with Beyond after openly, confidently and honestly explaining to us at interview that she had left college bored and wanting to have fun.
We respected her honesty, transparency and confidence, and hired her immediately.
Rachel had worked for another disruptive law firm before she began her career with us in support administration, client care and aftercare, but recognising her ambition – and consistent with our culture and ideal of cultivating alternative career paths for lawyers – she quickly moved to a paralegal role. Together with Emma in the McAlister Family Law team, she has now moved to our apprentice programme.
Rachel currently manages the corporate team’s workflows deals, with all of the business’ incorporations. As part of our commitment to ensuring that our junior lawyers get quality legal experience, she also supports the teams on large-scale transactions, for example working with a large French retailer on its UK corporate and property re-organisation.
As well as ensuring Rachel gains a breadth of experience, her experience now includes both technical legal work and business development.
She contributes significantly to our getting the balance right between being serious about business but doing so with human perspective.
